Alfred Lab is located at the Mid-Florida Research and Education Center in Apopka, Florida.

The Mid-Florida Research and Education Center (MREC) is hosting ten faculties with diverse research areas from Plant Physiology, Plant Biotechnology, Plant Pathology, Entomology to Economics. The center has 22,000 sq. ft. of research laboratories & 4200 sq. ft. of office space. MREC has a core facility that all faculties are able to access. The core facility includes: one Bio-Rad CFX96 Touch Real-Time PCR Detection System, one Li-COR 6800 photosynthesis system, one Agilent HPLC (High-performance liquid chromatography 1290 Infinity II), one BioTek Multi-purpose plate reader with FP, UV-vis, Luminescence scan, one liquid nitrogen generator, one walk-in germplasm storage room, five Nikon Inverted and Upright microscopes, one ice machine, one Bio-Rad gene Guns, one Olympus Spinning Disk Microscope (Ix81) equipped with DIC optics and filter sets for CFP, GFP, YFP, RFP and with capability for phase contrast, differential interference contrast and fluorescence microscopy.

Additionally, MREC has a teaching building that serve students in applied science as well as the public on pest management.
